 “This has been the most wonderful holiday for both myself and Andrew. The combination of coming to the most glorious place in Portugal with being on one of Lucy’s printmaking courses has been magical. The preparation Lucy does to ensure we all get the most out of the weeks course is second to none. We were a group of mixed ability and ages and Lucy carefully managed us all each day. She introduced us to all kinds of fun and fascinating printing methods. She cleverly got our creative juices working getting us to think and look carefully at the fabulous surroundings we were in. We felt ourselves relax immediately we got to Quinta do Barranco where we were looked after so brilliantly by the owners Frank and Daniela. We enjoyed comfortable accommodation and delicious meals produced by Daniela and her team. We enjoyed these round a large homely table where we could discuss our days activities and printing projects.

It was a very good idea that Lucy started a WhatsApp group with everyone coming on the course. This made all the contact and communication for travel and the sharing of photographs etc very accessible. Lucy kept us organised and on track the whole time. She had bought all the supplies and equipment and we just had to bring ourselves, a sketchpad and an open mind. Everyone was thrilled with what they accomplished by the end of the week.  “Dear Lucy, I have had a really lovely time in Barga with you and the rest of the group. Thank you so much for your enduring calmness, patience and support. I found my trip on the printmaking holiday in Tuscany to be a wonderful experience. It was my first time to Tuscany and I thought Barga was really beautiful. The venue was great, a wonderful view of the mountains from the balcony which was a feast for the eyes and heart.

I loved the individuality of the rooms and the inspirational artwork on display. Michael and Jane were great hosts and you led us all through an enjoyable variety of printmaking techniques.

I loved that we had our own studio space and it felt special having our exhibition at the end of the week with a drinks reception. I feel very lucky to have had this experience. With love xx”
