Craft Retreats

craft retreats in the UK and Europe, Portugal and Tuscany Italy

I had an overwhelming response to my printmaking art holidays in Portugal in 2022. I ran 2 further holiday art retreats in 2023 in Portugal then 2 more in 2024. Bookings are now open for 2 more that I have planned for 2025 and another in 2026. I also introduced a new printmaking art holiday in Tuscany, Italy in 2024 and I am repeating that again in 2025. The Italy retreat will only take place in the Autumn. Partners may also come along even if they would prefer not to take part in the printmaking sessions. The craft retreats are all about having fun creatively and learning or improving the craft of printmaking. They are set in relaxed, calm warm environments to ensure that they are thoroughly enjoyable. I can take up to 8 people on each of my craft retreats.

Portugal Crafts Retreat

The Portugal craft retreats will take place in the spring and autumn. All the Portugal printmaking takes place outside under a veranda that surrounds one side of the main house, which is a short walk from all of the accommodation. While the workshops take place you can enjoy the endless sounds of birdsong and the sound of the wind blowing in the trees that surround the beautiful gardens at the Quinta.

Printmaking will include drypoint printmakinglino printingmonoprinting and cyanotype printing. Please take a look at these techniques in more detail on my website. The workshops will be arranged for each day to meet everyone’s requirements. The garden at the Quinta is great inspiration for drawing. A sketch book is an essential requirement for the holiday.

Italy Craft Retreats

The craft retreats in Tuscany, Italy are a little less remote based at the top of a medieval hill top town called Barga. We enjoy amazing panoramic views of the rooftops of the town and the surrounding hills from our apartments. Our printmaking takes place in a professional fully equipped printmaking space within the building.

Both craft retreats consist of a lovely week of creativity and getting away from it all in idyllic surroundings! Don’t take my word for it, have a look at some of the lovely reviews previous students have after their holidays (might be on the 2nd or 3rd page!). Please get in touch if you would like to join me or need more information.
