Linocut Printmaking Workshops

group printmaking classes

Discover Lino printing with this direct graphic printmaking technique. My linocut printmaking workshops will teach you how to design, cut and carve and print a two colour linocut print.

Linocut is an enjoyable print making process with exciting pleasing results. Groups are kept to 6-8 people depending on venue to ensure that you get as much personal attention as possible to complete your work in time.

I did the linocut workshop on a Sunday in Hadfield with Lucy Gell. I would very much recommend Lucy’s workshops. I had a fantastic time. The group is not too large and therefore we’ve got plenty of opportunities to get Lucy’s guidance. Lucy teaches with a lot of enthusiasm, expertise, patience and, despite not drawing, not doing any particular craft nor arts of any sort, I could make a really lovely print: Lucy knows how to guide, advise and reassure. The workshop is also excellent value: spending so many hours with an artist and going back home with 12 cards we’ve made are really worth the price asked. I loved that day; it was a real break and felt rewarding. I have booked the same workshop and will do it again in a months time! Many thanks Lucy for your generosity and passion.

I shall see you again end of November! Have a lovely few week and thank you again for a really enjoyable day on Sunday.

Group Workshop Craft Barn October 2022

All my workshops are aimed at all abilities from beginner to those who have done plenty of printmaking before but simply want to learn or refine a new technique. Spend a day with me in a relaxed atmosphere with lots of fun and humour. Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring a packed lunch unless otherwise stated. There will also usually be plenty of cafes and shops nearby.

By the end of the day you will print up to 12 prints or cards to take home with you. All materials are provided including ink and paper (or cards and envelopes on card workshops) but please bring an apron with you. Images will be approximately 4 inch squared once printed or A6 for a print. All lino plates will be cut to size ready for the workshop. Please come along to the workshop with ideas in mind for your cards and ideally some found images or drawings to work from although I will have lots of reference material with me if you need it.

I will give full assistance and guidance on preparing an image. Registration for printing will be explained during the workshop and I will be there to help you to create a lovely linocut image to send to your family and friends.

Please bring an apron and an appetite for some fun creative learning!
