This lion screen print has been printed by hand using three hand mixed colours. The process of creating a screen print starts by each colour being drawn separately with either black ink or a black soft pencil. The lion print is one in an edition of images I’m creating to put together a range a creatures that make up an alphabet of animals. These are perfect nursery animal prints but can bring a smile to any room. I love this hands on approach to screen printing. By creating the artwork by hand it allows for those wonderful printmaking surprises, which I love so much.
