A tremendous delight and unforgettable experience. Thank you for all the in the background arranging and liaising with Frank and Daniela. The location is perfect and what a wonderful group we made! Such superb accommodation! I’ve enjoyed the laid back feeling of being welcomed into a family home, the flexibility built into all the arrangements and total care and consideration you have given tp everything and everybody. You are a gifted professional with an endless capacity for coaxing, reassuringly positive encouragement and the art of gentle persuasion. I am very happy with all of my prints and experiments. The bird watching with Frank was extraordinary. The high standards of both the food and the beautiful environment have been quite awesome! The owners share your attention to “Lucy detail” which pays off in worthwhile creativity. I’ve loved sharing the space with the swallows – what a delight to witness their fledging. I’ve renewed my interest in mono printing, intaglio, lino cutting ( two plates was new to me) ,the cyanotype activity was fun and engaging. You did everything you could to allow the smooth running of everyday and my hat’s off to you for managing it all so thoughtfully. It’s been great to meet new people and share something so special – it’s a very repeatable event, providing Frank and Daniela stay.

Dear Lucy, I have had the most wonderful week, it has totally surpassed my expectations. The location is just stunning, there couldn’t be a more perfect spot to try and get the creative juices going (even though it still took me a while!) I feel that you must have hand picked the group of ladies as everyone “Gelled” (he he) really well and I have made many new friends that I hope to keep and see again in the future. Of all the print methods I think I preferred dry pint/tetra pack and lino the most, it was fun to try mono print and cyanotype but I don’t feel they are my preference although I would like to try both with my grand children when they visit next. I don’t think anyone could come on this holiday and be disappointed. The hard work, knowledge and enthusiasm, and most importantly love and care you put into making it such a memorable experience is amazing and I thank you very much for that.

Learning print-making with Lucy in Portugal was a thoroughly relaxing and rewarding creative experience. The host venue is divine and the classes were relaxed, yet focused. It was an absolutely winning combination.

My overall experience of the holiday was very positive. The location, ambience, landscape and natural beauty of the Quinta more than lived up to my expectations as did he hospitality of Frank and Daniela. Frank is a very entertaining, welcoming host and Daniela’s culinary skills and variety of meals she provided were superb but I think we were all aware of the sheer amount of effort and labour she has to maintain to achieve this. I loved the ‘Family’ atmosphere of lunch and dinner with both staff and guests and relaxed ambience. Excellent accommodation and unexpectedly brilliant WiFi. Lucy, I really appreciate the sheer effort, hard work and planning that has gone into organizing this holiday and the stress it can cause. I enjoyed the relax start to the week before the printmaking started.

Fantastic Tuition in amazing surroundings. Swimming, fabulous food and hospitality in a quiet beautiful place. Going home with a body of work I’ll be pleased to show off! I loved it there and I am really happy to be coming back in October.

  6. Susan Somerset

I loved the mono printing and the lino printing as I want to do and learnt about them with you Lucy, thank you so much. I enjoyed the holiday so much, I don’t want to go home! It felt very relaxing with the surroundings and the views outside my bedroom were beautiful and now I feel I can do this again on my own without question, brilliant Lucy x

  7. Linda Worsey

It was great! I loved every minute of it and I am sad to leave. There was no pressure to produce great work – it was just a very relaxed week in the company of like minded people. No cooking or washing up! Great food and good company. I knew a bit already about some forms of printing but still learned new things, better techniques for lino printing, for instance…and tetra pak printing was a revelation! I’d like to come back…
